PIf you are interested to join us or to have your child join us, please contact us (see "contact us" page).
We will arrange to meet with you so we can explain the basics of scouting, how our troop is structured and how we adapt the scout program to suit individual needs.
This meeting (usually at the new member's home) is a chance for us to assess whether we are likely to be able to meet your needs and for you to ask any questions you may have.
In the case of an applicant with serious physical disabilities or behavioural issues, we may need to request you send a carer along if our leadership ranks are not strong enough.
Membership forms must be completed in full before the first meeting.
You are welcome to attend for up to three meetings before you decide whether you would like join, at which time membership fees become payable (see details on the Membership Application form) and you should buy the uniform.
Scout Uniform
What you need to buy
First the shirt.
The youth sections (Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers) each have navy as the predominant colour but each section has its own colour for the sleeves.
As our Special Scouts sometimes move up to the next sections at an older age than other Scouts, please discuss with Leaders before buying the uniform shirt.
Leaders wear a plain navy shirt.
here are two styles of shirt, a polo shirt and a button-through shirt. You may chose whichever you prefer.
Optional items: there is a uniform Scout jacket, uniform belt and there are a couple of different styles of headwear (cap, brimmed hat).
We do not insist on uniform pants, however trousers or shorts must be a light colour, preferably fawn or stone-coloured.
Jeans and other colours (especially multi-coloured board-shorts!) are not acceptable.
What you do not need to buy
Group Scarf
Woggle
Any badges
A Cub Scout Record Book or Scout Record book.
All of these items will be presented as part of the Investiture Ceremony.
